Coralberry, Symphoricarpus orbiculatus Moench., also known as Indian-currant, is an obscure native shrub suitable for naturalizing.  It has opposite leaves, and fruits that are almost pink in color.  I recall having seen it in only two places where one happens to be on some property I own and the other is on an easement to another tract of property I own.  This is a little surprising since the habitats seem so different that I would expect it everywhere in between, but this may be because this area is near the southern edge of the range, except for some isolated populations in Florida, until getting further west through Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
