Cork-wood, Stillingia aquatica Chapm., also known as water toothleaf, is one of the lightest woods available as the vernacular name suggest while Florida cork-wood Leitneria floridana, Chapm., is another species in a different family that has similarly light weight wood.  Stillingia is also a wetland indicator as the specific epithet suggest.  I have seen it once near Fort Morgan, Alabama, during a dendrology class field trip in 1992, where it was growing in a tidal marsh, although hurricanes have since disturbed this habitat so I don't no if the status has changed.
