Gopherwood is the wood Noah used to build the ark.  No species has definitively been identified since it could be any of the trees suitable for ship building.  It could even be a species that is extinct due to the flood.  Another explanation is that this is a mistranslation where it could have meant beams of wood or some other term for how they were prepared.

A couple other tree species that are similarly not clearly identified are the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil that are mentioned as being in the Garden of Eden while the later is popularly represented as an apple tree.  A description of the Tree of Life is that is has twelve manners of fruit each borne monthly although this could be 13 kinds of fruit if counting lunar months.  The part of the logo for Eden Keeper is inspired by this description.  The name arborvitae means tree of life.
