There are about half a
dozen true huckleberries, Gaylussacia Kunth,
in Alabama
although none of them are reported from the northeast corner of the state thus
what many people call huckleberries are actually wild blueberries, Vaccinium L..I have yet to even see a true huckleberry. Although edible true huckleberries are reported to be inferior to blueberries.
