Eden Keeper

Genesis 2:15
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:  Are you Jewish?

A:  This question is often asked when people see the star on the Eden Keeper logo as could be expected due to it having 6 points and being blue like the Star of David on the Israeli flag, besides being more visible than if it was yellow.  There are two parts to the answer ethnic and religious.  An ancestral line
has a fair possibility of having a surname that derived from a distinctly Jewish surname, but there is probably more evidence that I am Cherokee.  The next closest relationship I'm aware of is a sixth cousin three times removed having a Jewish maternal grandmother.  I'm a Baptist, but Judaism would be the top choice if I had to convert since that is from were it derived.  If somebody has a problem with any of this then that it is their problem and I doubt they would need my services anyway.

Q:  Are you staying busy?

A:  Not as busy as I would like.  I wish more people would realize that landscape designs can still be done when the weather seems to hot, to cold, to wet, or to dry for doing the instalation, which is best in the fall although most people only think about it in the spring.  Site prepararation can also be done almost any time then the planting can be postponed, especially if soil amendments were required, to a better time if desired.  Meanwhile there are some maintenance concerns such as pruning that can be taken care of either while dormant in the winter or just after they bloom, depending on the species and mulch can be done anytime.

Q:  Just in case people are politely not asking this question I’ll ask it here.  Do you work in the nude?

A:  I have somewhat expected such a question due to the verse Genesis 2:25 being shortly after the verse Genesis 2:15, which inspired the name of my business.  The answer would have to be NO due to the possible connotations, and for practical reasons ranging from the need to wear gloves at a minimum up to avoiding sunburn or worse.  Besides I’m neither a nudist, nor do I care to see the typical nudist nude.  Even so not the least of the reasons for me not being a nudist is that my potency may involuntarily offend the seemingly oxymoronic prudish sensibilities of most nudists.  On a related tangent my parents never gave a straight answer for why we couldn’t go to Goosepond Colony; therefore, I mistakenly assumed that it was probably a nudist colony since they seemed to be more frequently mentioned in the news at about that same time.

Q:  Can x service be done this time of year?

A:  Without trying to sound like a yes man, yes, but depending on specificaly what it is there may be undesirable risk and consequences that I will explain as needed.  An example is pruning, which can be done anytime, although the best time is when plants are dorminant, but some species bleed sap if pruned in winter, and if flowers are desired it depends on bloom time or flower buds will be lost for that year.
